A Nod to Thelonious

In his homage to the pianist Thelonious Monk, the artist suggests the movement, syncopation, and jazzy spirit of the music. The raw linen backdrop provides a wonderful texture for the acrylic paintings.  Although the theme is repeated in each of the paintings, every one of the 5 canvases is a different take on the jazz great and his music. The two smallest pieces are a wonderful pair to display together.
